Info 100 km/h unbraked:

The regulation is as follows: for unbraked trailers, if you wish to utilise the 100 km/h speed rating (if registered accordingly), there is a factor 0.3 between the unladen weight of the towing vehicle and the permissible total weight of the trailer (worst-case scenario). Therefore, for a 750 kg trailer you need a towing vehicle with an unladen weight of 750 / 0.3 = 2500 kg.

If this is not the case, you can have the trailer downrated (TÜV approval required). For example, if your towing vehicle has an unladen weight of 1600 kg, the trailer must be reduced to 1600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. You must then make do with the reduced payload regardless of the towing vehicle or speed.

Additionally, the permissible total weight of the trailer may not exceed the unbraked towing capacity (O2) entered in your vehicle registration documents.

Note on LED Lights:

For some car models, the LED trailer lighting may not function properly. This issue occurs most often with newer vehicle models and is caused by the low current consumption of LED technology. In order for the trailer lights to work correctly, the vehicle or towbar must be equipped with an additional module that supports LED lighting. Lorries does not supply this module with production trailers.
