Info 100 km/h with unbraked trailer:

The following applies: for unbraked trailers, if you wish to use the 100 km/h approval (where registration permits), a factor of 0.3 must be considered between the unladen weight of the towing vehicle and the maximum permissible total weight of the trailer (worst case scenario). This means that for a 750 kg trailer, your towing vehicle must weigh at least 750 / 0.3 = 2,500 kg unladen.

If not, the trailer must be de-rated (TÜV approval). For example, if your towing vehicle weighs 1,600 kg unladen, the trailer must be de-rated to 1,600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. You must then work with the remaining payload for all vehicles and at all speeds.

Furthermore, the permissible total weight of the trailer must not exceed the unbraked towing capacity (O2) entered in the vehicle registration certificate.

LED Note:

In some vehicle models, the LED trailer lighting may not function properly. This issue most frequently occurs with newer vehicle models and is due to the low power consumption of LED technology. To ensure correct operation, the vehicle or tow bar must be fitted with an additional module that supports LED lighting. Lorries does not supply this module as standard with production trailers.
